Default Midi lagging behind in 6.9LE

Problem:
I am triggering a soft-synth from a midi track in Pro Tools 6.9LE and there is a delay between the "note on" and the time that you actually hear the audio output.
I have heard of this sort of problem when triggering external hardware synths but I have not had this problem prior to installing 6.9LE (over 6.7LE).

I have a 002 & a Powerbook G4 with 1 Gig RAM and never had noticeable problems of "lag" when triggering midi instruments (either hardware or software). Therefore:

- Is there some sort of "automatic delay compensation" setting that has been introduced in 6.9LE that is perhaps causing this problem ?
- If not, what can I do to eliminate this problem (other than shifting the midi notes to the left!).

Thanks for any help.

Nigel

When installing 6.9, did you check that the hardware buffer remained at a lower amount ( 128) ? or did it reset to 1024? Lots of prefernces need to be redone when upgrading.
