Default Firewire Mbox?

Anyone know if there's one in the works?
I aint gonna try lugging a 002 rack around.

Although it might be kool... I doubt there is a Firewire in the works.. Unless Digi is planning on releasing another one similiar with a few more ins/outs.

they wouldn't have let you trade up mbox to 002 unless something was in the works.

why would firewire be better? Maybe all those damn "cpu is holding off usb audio" messages would go away?

firewire can stream many many more times the amount of information than usb can.
Case in point, 002 rack can handle 18 inputs and midi, mbox, sputters out at 2.
Lower latency too.

USB = 12 mbits/sec
Firewire = 400 mbits/sec

USB speed is equivalent to your wireless ethernet card. Firewire approaches internal ATA speeds.
