Scarlett 18i20 and PT12.5 issue

I've been using a Focusrite 18i20 for awhile now with my MacBook Pro. Since upgrading to 12.5.0 and installing ElCapitan 10.11.5 I can get the input to work and it records just fine but when going to playback, I get no sound and no output to the 18i20. The playback engine is set to the 18i20 USB and the i/o setup is set to the 18i20 on both input and output. The MBP is set for input and output to the 18i20 and plays audio correctly from youtube etc. Just can't get audio from Pro Tools.

In the Scarlett Mix Control window the sample rate is set 48k and Sync Source is set to Internal but the Sync Status says no lock. Thought I could use the Soundcraft clock but the Mix Control software will not let me change from internal. I am inputting drums from a Soundcraft 328 digital through the ADAT inputs. Seems to input ok but can't playback.

I could use some help here. Things worked fine before upgrading to 12.5.0.

Update- When I quit Pro Tools and relaunched it the Sync Status went to Locked. Still no audio or output to Mix Control.

Might want to try Trashing your Prefs.
Then I would start PT while holding down the 'N' key, choosing your interface in the Playback settings and finally going into I/O setup and defaulting the input, output and bus settings.

This should give you a fresh start in PT, which may clear up the problem.

Trashed prefs. Installed new drivers. Hardware set to 18i20. Playback engine set to 18i20. MTC Synchronization in peripherals set to 18i20. MBP in and out set to 18i20. 18i20 is set up, locked and synced.

No sound or output to the 18i20.

I have been at this for several hours a night for a week. I have lost precious time and lost 1 client. Pulling my (very thin) hair out.

What now?

For the MBP, in your Apple sound prefs, don't set it to the 18i20, choose anything else, but not the Focusrite. Pro Tools audio engine gets confused otherwise.

We have both our MBP's set to Apollo Quads and Apollo 8Pre and works great as Core Audio works with 3rd party interfaces.
