Avid Dock Jog Wheel - What You Using It For?

I sense an Avid Dock is coming to my studio soon to add to a pair of S1s.

What are you guys using the Jog Wheel for?

Candidly I've never used one before, and I am curious what justifies the desktop real estate of the jog wheel.

I put the wheel in "Move Sel" mode and you can use it to shuttle around the session. Incredibly zippy and useful. During a complex mix, I'm on that wheel like a DJ. And I often also use it for Mark In/Mark Out selections.

Assignable Knob
(if you haven't looked into this recently added feature, you should!)

I use it mostly for Scroll, Zoom, and Scrub/Shuttle. I'd like to start using it a bit more as well. I need to get the Assignable Knob function to be second nature, so I use it more and don't have to think about it.

Can you expand on that please?

Assignable knob is where you can put the mouse pointer on any controllable function and you'll see a little blue box around it and then a knob or the wheel can start controlling it. This goes for things like pan, etc but also plugin parameters (as long as the plugin maker allows it.)
You can even lock/unlock control of that parameter (so you can move the mouse and it doesn't have to stay hoovered over the parameter) to the wheel.

it's being described/discussed how it works on the S4/S6 (I've linked just before he gets into it.) It's pretty close to the same for the Dock.
You can assign what knob becomes the assignable knob (other knobs like the monitor knob could be it.)
I have the jog wheel as mine.
