Default Newest Altiverb is not compatible with PT 10.3.10

FYI. Straight from Audio Ease Support:

This is a bug in the Altiverb version check. The Altiverb 7.1 (and up) AAX plug-in requires Pro Tools 10.3.8 or up. Somehow Altiverb thinks 10.3.10 is lower then 10.3.8 and then it shuts down. Solution: run PT 10.3.9 or use Altiverb 7.0.5 RTAS, for now, till we fixed this in an update. At this moment I do not know yet when we will fix this.

Best regards,

Aram Verwoest

This is why xx.10 updates are silly, lots of issues caused by Mac OS X going to 10.10 - it's mathematically the same as 10.1, so no wonder some software thinks it's older. After 10 "dot" updates you'd think it's time for a major revision!

Really? It´s that simple? Unfrickin believable. And Audio Ease has no ETA on fixing this simple little thing. Gawd.

I may be incorrect, but I had the same issue with Mac OS 10.10 and a script to setup e-mail from my cPanel on the server. The script required 10.7 or above, so it looked at the system identifier, sees 10.10 - which it reads as 10.1 - it is the same number after all.

They managed to get a fix out. It could be more complicated, but I believe this is the root cause, Audio ease could well be having the same problem. Of course going from Pro Tools 10.3.9 to 10.4 would be too hard for Avid, and far too simple!

This is what we all feared would happen on Y2K

Glad they fixed it, they charge too much to let something like this brick the software.
