Default Unable to create a new project

Hi,
I've only just downloaded Pro Tools First and have no idea how to use it. I think I've installed all the necessary software...drivers etc. I'm using it with an M-audio Duo USB-interface. When I try to create a new project, it comes up with an error message: "Some inputs or outputs have become inactive because your audio hardware device has changed. Some inputs are missing". I'm quite confused. Also, I'm unable to find my system ID: under the Pro Tools product information, the only one that comes up is my iLok ID? That's why I can't phone support or send in a case.
I would appreciate any advice, thank you!

2 things to help(hopefully).

1-If you can open PT, go to Setup>Playback Engine and select the M-Audio unit to be the "Playback engine"(if its not available on the menu, try re-installing the driver or moving the interface to a different USB port). OR, hold the SHIFT key while opening PT as that will take you directly(eventually) to the window to select the "audio engine"(in either case, once you change this to the M-Audio box, PT will need to restart).

2-don't create a "Project". Instead, create a "Session". Why? Because projects live in the cloud, which can be unreliable. Sessions live on your hard drive.
