Keeps converting to protools 12

Please help. Trying Free Trial Of Protools
Not sure how to properly relate the title or where to post this but the issue I'm having is I bought Protools 12 back in 2015-2016 and can't remember my email or password I used but I still have the iLok which is a 2nd gen. So I tried downloading the free trial of the protools being offered for 299.99 everything downloaded and installed fine. When I went to open protools it said that a iLok was needed 2nd gen or newer. So I plugged in my old iLok and it converted it to protools 12 which opens and runs. I want to purchase the full new protools but will I need a new physical iLok? Any help will be appreciated. I downloaded iLok manager and see the trial version sitting in the section I had when I had protools first but it won't activate due to needing an iLok. I tried to move it to my old iLok but it said I wasn't the authorized user because of my old account when I first bought it. I run windows. Thank you and sorry for any confusion.
