Clocking issues between Digimax LT and 002.
Right now, I am in the process of buying a used Digimax LT to expand the inputs my 002. The guy is giving me a great deal on it and I would really like to be able to take him up on it, but I can't get it to work.
I've set it up running a lightpipe from the ADAT out of the Digimax into the ADAT in on the 002, as per the instructions. In protools, I go to hardware setup and select extrnal ADAT as my clock source. Everytime I try this, I get an error saying "Clock source invalid". I have tried different cables, different machines, and even a different 002, but all with the same error. However, my roommate was able to get his M-Audio 410 to see the Digimax as a SPDIF clock through the optical input. I would set my 002 as the master clock and the Digimax as a slave if I could, but the only way to get clock into the digimax is through BNC Word Clock, something which the 002 doesn't have. I don't know what else to do. The engineers at my school said that the 002s are sometimes really tricky when it comes to optical inputs. Can anyone suggest, well anything? It may just be that I'm trying to work with a broken unit here. |
