Default Pro Tools refusing to install. Avid Link stuck on "installing"

Hi all,

I recently upgraded my SSD and have had to reinstall Pro Tools.

After downloading Avid Link again, I'm now stuck on the Pro Tools part.

I's been "Installing" for over an hour. The dots after the word installing are animated.

Any ideas? I've attached by desktop PC specs.
Cheers

Most likely Windows security features are interfering. There is something called "controlled folder access." It was something dumb Microsoft did which includes the user folders (at some point, microsoft made this on by default with one of the updates.)
And Pro Tools needs to create folders there.
You need to turn off protected folders (you can turn it back on after the install)

Here's a link for more info

Also, you might as well kill the install. Don't use Avid Link. Go to my.avid.com and download the installer from there. Install from that (that way you'll have more info on what is happening during the install)

Thank you BScout! I had similar issue and after playing around with Microsoft Windows Defender I was able to fix that access restrictions for the installation folder.

happened to me on my Mac as well. I gave up as I was waiting for some hardware from Amazon. Came back the next day and it was done.
