Default Why the Delay When Recording at 1024 Samples?

Horrible. When I go lower to 512 or 256 I cannot record as the entire system stops and I get the dreaded -9094 error message. Looks like the only playback engine I can use for recording is 1024 but that's useless because of the delay. Help! PTLE6.9 P4 3.0GHz, 512MB Ram

Are you using a second, dedicated hard drive to record to? Is it internal or external? What type/interface ATA, SATA or USB, Firewire? Also, is it 7200 RPM? I once had a problem very similar with a USB external hard drive.

You could always go with the dreaded "Low Latency Compensation" option or whatever it's called under your Operations menu.

What type of pc are you using?

internal ATA. Have a second external LaCie 7200rms that I use sometimes but not with this problem.

can't go to 512 or lower, error message comes up. Have a Rain Element Audio PC:

Something is definitely going on, but what I'm not sure. I would first make sure that everything jives with Digi's guidelines. Kill any service that isn't necessary (like Antivirus, etc.), follow all tested system tweaks (they're all over this site), and disable any open hardware ports (like USB) that aren't in use. Also, are you on SP1 or SP2? I'm still on SP1 and from all I've read, switching to SP2 is still asking for problems to come knocking.

SP2 but everything's been fine up until now. I might have to bite the bullet and go pay for Digi tech support.

I have a friend who had this problem with a Dell computer. We spent weeks trying to figure it out trying everything. As a last resort, I changed the stock video card that came with the dell and lo and behold; problem solved.
