Default something i hoped never to see again

i've just invested a large sum of money on a new macbook pro 15" (2 gigs ram & 2.33) primarily to run PT. my previous laptop was entry level and i was soon frustrated by the HW buffer error warning box popping up with only a few tracks and plugins running, hence the investment.

imagine then my suprise and dismay when guess what? i got that error box popping up within minutes of installing 7.3 and the 7.3.1 update. and this in my first session with only one track running Xpand.

i use only plugin instruments at the moment and only the basics that came with PT, Xpand, sampletank, live, reason.

my machine is set up correctly to the best of my knowledge plus i'm running a lacie external drive.

what gives?

another frustrating issue is that it takes repeated strikes of the spacebar to get PT running. when you hit it the first time the play and stop indicators light up briefly and then everythig stops. it takes three or more strikes to get PT running. has anyone experienced this issue?

and one last issue, when grabbing regions, they mysteriously change size and switch to notes. ?????
