Default CHUD is great, but NAP reverts to ON after reboot

My G5 has chirped for 2 years. I swear I tried CHUD a year or so ago and it didn't help me. Just installed CHUD 4.3.3. And the moment I disable NAP, the chirping is so pleasantly gone!

BUT

every time I reboot, NAP is turned back on in the processor system preference that CHUD installs.

anyone else seen this? is this just the way it is or is there any way that I can make sure that NAP mode remains disabled even after a reboot?

You can make a script that turns off nap and put it in your startup items. I don't remember exactly how to make the script (it's a Terminal command), but you could probably find it if you search the Apple discussion boards.

unfortunately I'm still not very knowledgeable in the ways of scripting. I took a look at automator to see if it could accomplish this for me, but to no avail.

Anyone else know how to get CHUD to always disable NAP even after rebooting?

Try this in an Applescript:
do shell script "hwprefs cpu_nap=false"

This should work if CHUD is installed.
