Virtual Drums

I need opinions on real sounding drums. I have been using Acid Pro 6, Reason 3.0, and BFD Lite.
So far, I have liked the BFD Lite, but have been holding off buying the full version. Give me some of your opinions (pros and cons). Thanks

I strongly recommend BFD. Sounds and works great. If you're already familiar with the lite version, The full version is pretty much just like the lite version with more/better sounds.

BFD hands down. It's simply amazing for quality, raw and unprocessed drums. I strongly recommend upgrading to the XFL expansion as well, if you have the capital, as it will really give you a much wider range, but if you're on a budget just getting the full version should be fine. Make sure to get the upgrade to 1.5.

I'm a big fan of Toontrack's DFH Superior and Custom & Vintage drums. http://www.toontrack.com/index_samples.shtml Very easy to program real sounding performances.

PLEASE take a look at Custon and Vintage drums...I have BFD, also...C&V has been getting the call all the time.

Two thumbs up for Toontrack. I use Superior, Custom&Vintage and Vintage add-on. They all sound great.

And, since you use Reason, you could check out Reason Drum Kits. Sounds good too.

I'd vote for Reason as well. I had a song that blew my friends mind when he heard the drum toms, snare and kick all racing around. He asked what drummer I got to do this for me and where/when/how I got such great results. When I told him it was done with Reason (ADAPTED, no less!), he had to take a minute to wrap his mind around that.

Though I can't post any samples. Wish I could, but the "real" drum sounds I used were in the past, and I've been going further into electronic sounding beats rather than what's working to sound real.

On the other hand, those ToonTrack samples sounded really good, too! (Awesome songs in their entire production, good job, Tom)

The one thing that I dont like about Reason is that I cannot adjust velocity settings besides just the "soft" "medium" "hard" settings. Which means I would have to open another instance of that particular drum. I think that style has something to do with this as well. I am doing more metal that any other style. Blast beats and tight fills are can sound really digital if they arent adjusted correctly. With that being said, is DKFH my best option? and Has anyone noticed one program/plug in (Reason, BFD)using a lot more processing power than the others?
