Thinking of upgrading to 12

Can anyone offer any words of caution and advice? I made the move to El Capitan (10.11) and I am noticing weird glitchy behavior now. So the thinking is I sort of have to make the move. (I switched to El Capitan because some software I have needed it to work properly).
