whats the best plugin!?

Hi,
Im fairly new to pro tools and i'm just noticing the amount of plugins available on free trial. I have an ilok and before i start downloading loads and loads of plugins, i was just wondering which EQ/Dynamics plugins are "the best" (obviously its a matter of opinion but it would be good to know which ones are the most popular)
Also reverbs....just wondered which was the most popular.
any opinions much appreciated!

for EQ--get the digi EQ III from www.digidesign.com ,can't beat the price--free! top notch eq, as good as any--while you're at it, get the digi dynamics III while your at it, also free

plug-ins, like monitors and headphones, are a matter of preference--popular does not translate into whats best for you--advide would be to try out demos and see what would work best with what you do--to me, comfort is as important as any bells & whistles that can really over-dazzle you

Save your plug-in purchases for something besides EQs, comps, gates, and limiters (standard stuff), because the free stuff from Digi is excellent IMO. Instead, round out your plug-in arsenal with an amp-modeler (Sansamp, Amp Farm), an analog-emulator (McDsp Analog Channel), or other weird effects (Ring Mods, Phasers, etc.).

Also consider the VST-RTAS wrapper from FXpansion. Costs $100, but gets you many free plug-ins.

Don't forget the free BF76 compressor from Digi...
