Default Caution: Waves dead w/PTLE 7.4 & 10.5.1

ProTools launches and runs on 10.5.1 - but Waves plug-ins are dead pending an update. This may only apply to iLok authorizations.

Nice to know, but considering 10.5 isn't supported at all yet by Digi, users should stay with a compatible version of 10.4 until there's a ProTools patch/update available.

As noted, ProTools isn't qualified on 10.5 yet, and neither are Waves plugs. Which version of the plugs are you running, for the record?

Yeah, I'm not surprised at all... tread with caution guys, best stay with 10.4.9 or 10.4.10 until Waves finishes all tests. Luckily for Pro Tools users, this is usually in a short timeframe. Same goes with PT's version, and even QT version.

Waves isnt approved for PT 7.4 with any OS!

this was from Waves tech support a few weeks ago:

""Waves Currently does not support Protools 7.4, Currently we do not have an ETA on releasing support for this version,
however this should happen in the near future.. Upon the release we will issue an official announcement."

Waveshell crashes my PT 7.4 on launch

I just used RennVox on a 7.4 session with no ill-effects at all... did the trick nicely. Must vary from system to system. I'm even on 10.4.11 which isn't qualified for 7.4 either...

Probably based on which Waveshell a person is using.

They love saying this should happen in the near future. This added up to over a year for Digital Performer 5.11 and 5.12/5.13... Then they release a Beta version, with the proviso WaveShell 5.9.7 for Digital Performer 5.12 may crash DP on launch.

Waves, you've gotta love em!
