Default Sample Rate question

Say Im recording a session at 24bit/44.1 and in the session I have the sample rate set to 1024 or 2048. Im mixing and stuff. Then I bounce to disk with the sample rate set to one of those....My question is, will the sample rate effect the finished product? should I bounce with it set to 512 maybe? Or does it not matter and thats only for performance purposes? Just curious.

You're confusing sample rate with buffer settings. In my experience, bouncing to disk with any buffer setting (64 up to 1024 - I'm using a Digi 002) doesn't have any effect on the end results, other than the amount of plug ins you can run while doing the bounce without getting an error.

I personnally set the buffer size to 2048 when I mix. That way I got more power usable for plugins.
But to record I set it to 128 or 256. The buffer size dont have any issues on sound quality.
