Default Ivory II - MAJOR INSTALL ISSUE

Just picked up the Ivory II upgrade from Synthogy and the install is NOT going well.

This is a common problem, I find:

http://synthogy.com/support.html#Disk3

I have my Ivory samples on a dedicated hard drive (let's get that out of the way) and have tried every single solution listed on Synthogy's support page except one. I'm currently downloading library files 10-13 manually. Mind you they are each 2-4 GIG and take several hours to download each. Nice.

Has anyone had to go to this extreme yet? If so, once the zip files were downloaded was the installer able to pickup where it left off?

So annoying....

If my disk drive wasn't able to read these disks, why were disks 1 and 2 installed without problem? It's not my Mac Pro super combo drive, that sucker can read ancient Sanskrit.

I actually had this same problem with my MBP internal drive - using an external FW DVD drive worked.

REPAIRED

Synthogy's website is absolutely correct. Once I downloaded the files and manually added them (because no other method worked) the installer was able to resume and finish.

My three day adventure has come to a close with beautiful and quick responding piano sounds.

ho ho ho

Manufacturing flaw with D3 I assume. Something they'll probably fix in the next batch.

Just bought the Ivory II plugin from my local retailer.

I'm quite dissapointed to experience the same installation problem.
Installation failes on the 3'rd DVD.

I guess Synthology didn't bother to make new DVD that would fix this

Anyway, I'm downloading the problem DVD from :
http://synthogy.com/support.html#Disk3

I hope I'm pleasently suprised when Im finally finished installing and can actually start to use the plugin.
Install time is worse than Trilian.

I'm sure you'll love it. Did the upgrade a few months ago. Sweet sounds.

After 8 hours installation time with disk 3 issues, I was hoping to be blown away, but I'm not super impressed with Ivory II.
It's better than Mini Grand for solo parts, but in a mix it's not mind blowing better.

I hope it grows on me.

I read somewhere that the Italian Grand is really the one to get ?
I was really going to get Alicias Keys, but was reccomended Ivory II.

Hmm, maby I should get that aswell or would it be reduntant ?

I advise you to spend some time with it. Sure, you may not like it after all, but I think we all are a bit spoiled. It's as if we expect the plugins to magically choose the right presets and custom settings for each song too.

Seriously, I spent an entire hour trying the sounds for one song. You gotta find the right one. Also, the default settings in Ivory are on the lean side. If you have the power, you should at least up the voices.

I've read about how some users love the pianos in Komplete 7. I absolutely hate them. Haven't found them suitable for any task...yet. That said, Alicia's keys gets great reviews, so maybe that's your flavor?

Spening 8 hours on installation and paying $450 dollars (kr.2500) for it I surely intend to.

I will probably get that also, as soon as I get my new 1TB WD Black disk.
I found that running sample libraries from SSD's is great for performance, but not so good for the wallet
