Default Re: iLok "support"

The first thing I did years back when I got my 11R/PT10/iLok bundle was to create my iLok account, register said iLok and pay the $30 via PayPal for ZDT. Done within 5 minutes. That $30 is the least expensive thing you will ever buy for your daw and will sure save one a lot of hassles trying to scare up license assets from a developer on the weekend.

Another way to look at it: what's easier - dealing with one point of contact for this or dealing with a couple of dozen developers? I'll take the first scenario thank you very much.

Thanks guys. I just added ZDT. It had expired and I'd be in deep dodo if something happened. $30 would seem like a gift.

That's exactly the point you seem determined not to get. YOUR ilok, because you didn't buy the ZDT+TLC insurance, has permanent licenses that will carry on working forever without the ilok ever having to be connected to the internet.

And in this scenario, there is no reliable way to cancel the licenses on it.

If you had ZDT+TLC, the deal involves you getting access to replacement licenses immediately because the system requires you to sync the ilok with the internet at least once every 90 days otherwise the licenses stop working.

And in that case, they CAN definitely cancel the old licenses.

I'm sorry you've ended up in this situation, but it is your failure to protect your assets with a relatively cheap and easily available insurance that now leaves you in a bit of a mess.

I wish you good luck in getting replacement licenses from the software manufacturers, but that may be a long, difficult, and ultimately unsuccessful exercise. You'll have to prepare for the possibility that you'll have to purchase new licenses if you want to continue using the software.

The safest place is on Pace's server. I move every license I don't need to use there and everything when I'm taking my iLock to another studio. I also have TLC on the two machines here.

I bought ZDT coverage for 2 iLoks. I can only put TLC on one of them. Is that normal???

Default iLok "support"

You have to be careful- I wanted to move my ZDT from an old ilok to a newer one...but they don't allow for you to move the ZDT coverage between different iloks

So if you enable it on the same ilok I am pretty sure it should run concurrently, but in the same ilok, unfortunately
