Exclamation Pro tools MP9 System Requirements Question...

I just upgraded my laptop (windows 7 home premium, dual core 2.0ghz, 2gb memory) to a desktop ( windows 7 home premium, dual core 2.8ghz, 4gb memory) because pro tools MP9 kept freezing and showing an error message that said something about not enough cpu. I would click ok and It would work fine for a while until I started eqing something again. I have all the basic packed plugins. I am currently still using my laptop because Im waiting on the mail for my new pc. Anyways my question was will this new desktop run better with pro tools or is the problem somewhere else? Also, what are the optimum system requirements needed for pro tools to run like water (very smoothly) on a pc?
