Default Probably a newbie question but...

Is there a logical reason for why the sound of a recorded track changes when a plugin is inserted on the track, but without changing any of the parameters of the plugin? My example is an acoustic guitar bussed to an aux track with an instance of EQ III 7-band. I insert the plugin on the aux track and I can hear a slight chance in the tone of the guitar. I know there has to be a logical reason for this, (just that the signal is being routed thru something, maybe?) It's not a big deal at all, but if someone could explain this, I'd appreciate it!

Some plugs like some hardware have a sound in there nominal stage
I have not noticed EQ3 to have a sound but it might
One thought, is it coming in with the high and low pass filters engages? that would have a small effect.

The signal chain you describe may have a few samples of latency(caused by the plugin) so mixing hte original track WITH the aux track with a few seconds of latency could cause minor comb filtering. EQ would usually be inserted on the audio track it self. As a general rule, insert EQ and dynamics. Use aux sends and aux tracks for delays and reverbs.
