master track keeps malfunctioning

I am using protools LE 7.4 with a intel mac mini running 10.4.11

I am having trouble with one particular session file. While it is loading I hear a burping sound kind of like the sound speakers or some amps make when you turn them on. Then I hit play but there is no sound. I can see that the individual track meters are going up and down but not the master fader. the only think that remedies this problem is deleting and then making a new master track. It wouldn't be a big problem except I have a fade at the end and a eq plug-in that I have to keep redoing.

No one sound files appear to be affected by this glitch.

What is the output setting on the master track? How about the other audio tracks. Check your I/O settings to see if they got changed(this happens a lot when importing a session done on another system). You could create a new master track and drag the fade automation from the old one to the new one(also could drag or copy the EQ plugin too).
