Default Nehalem 8 core settings

Are you guys setting your processor count to seven instead of 8? I remember reading somewhere to do so- PT dealer is telling me the same

yes, any odd amount is preferable 1/3/5/7 depending in your machine.

I have the PE6R4-I . Is that the one you are talking about?
It's FAST. Much better than the previous HD Expansion
chassis I had.

The 8 core Nehalem Mac Pros have 16 virtual cores.

Apparently the new PE6R4 is now an (i) was it fairly plug and play as far as setup is concerned? Core card first (next to taped yellow slot) then b to a link cables to the cards themselfs?

I am using hybrid HD 4 1 original core, 1 accel, 2 process in that order ( accel process first)
