Yeah, I also felt this was a wasted opportunity; really seems like it would make sense to be able to control the level of the sub-tracks from the main 'fader' - a third category of folder that was 'VCA' would make sense to me.

I still think an option to have folders expand above and to the left would be great, and would make the transition to using them smoother.
Ive worked this way for years and people are always confused when they open my sessions but makes perfect sense to me

Yes an option to choose left or right will be greatly appreciated here too !

I'm used to the folder being on the left now, I'd go as far as to say I don't even mind it.

Still waiting for this though

I can see where an option might be handy

And having been an habitual Aux user, also with the Aux to Right of the associated tracks.... I was actually surprised (once I just started working with it ) how quickly I got used to spilling the folder out to right and it be on the left. And because I always use "Routing Folders" I always have Fader control over the entire group.

What I do for easy quick reference is (since the Routing Folder is always dark Grey in the middle of the channel strip and usually a darker version of the tracks in it . So I always have the associated tracks be full color in for the entire channel strip

like this
