FWIW, just read some of the comments on that sponsored post/ad and these are typical of what we've been reading on DUC (regarding licensing, bugs, Everywhere, product strategy, etc.) for many months now i.e. the negativity is not limited to DUC members but appears to be widespread (on the basis that Facebook reaches many more people and Facebook ads are generally quite effective at targeting users based on their interests).

Edit - this post refes to anither made a few minutes earlier where I attached another Pro Tools Facebook ad showing another left-handed guitarist (with another attempt at humour as if proving the LH-guitarist demographic was Avid's priority) ... but this apperpars to have disappeared - not sure if my error or if some issue with the post?!

I got a response, but it appears to be a generic one. I was instructed to go here:

http://avid.force.com/Support/cc_avid_ContactUs

Should I wish to file for a refund. I would say that if we all wait until the week before our support plan expires and then request refunds, they will be flooded with it and maybe get the point that we will hold them accountable to their promises.

They've obviously never heard of the no-to-yes parenting trick, would have worked brilliantly in this case.

Are we getting cloud collaboration? No.

And then if they did have it ready at 12 everyone is like, Awesome we got something unexpected.

It's easier to change a no to a yes than a yes to a no.

Whatever happened to this guy? I ask for no reason in particular other than to satisfy my curiosity, and because I'm standing in line at the grocery and I'd prefer not to flip through the tabloid rack.

He's got about as much of a chance on getting a refund from Avid as hitting the lottery.

C'mon. I don't think anyone has ever had to sign a nondisclosure agreement for receiving a refund on a product that was not as advertised. He can take out ads in magazines if he likes.

I think he probably got tired of people giving him such a hard time about it. I got tired of it, and I wasn't even the one asking for a refund.

Right. Whether he got a refund or not, he's probably not checking the DUC anymore, instead spending his time on a forum for whatever DAW he's using now.

I was gone for some time, flipped out at AVID (and several people here) and had to take a break. It's amazing how time can provide clarity and maturity to a situation.

Anyhow, that's neither here nor there. I figured I've got enough options no point in fighting and if at some point in the future I absolutely cannot stand Pro Tools anymore, then I'll just stop paying for the subscription. As it stands now, I still have my love/hate relationship with Pro Tools, but at least I have track freeze and VCA faders, so it's not all bad...
