I made myself a macro for that with Keyboard Maestro in PT7 on Lion, and it's worked ever since. Still working in 2021.3 on Catalina. Some of my PT macros have had to be redone after an update, but that one rocks on. Now on Windows... just don't bother. But on Mac, no trouble with the color palette macro.

There is no alt key in OSX - you must mean the option key.

There are only keys, how operating system interprets them is one thing but you are right normally apple systems refer to alt key as option

Hm, so why is it named ALT on my keyboard?

Anyway, I just wanted to inform the OP that this sometimes changes the pull-down menus, especially skipping the following dialogue box.

You are correct.

The right option key is also labelled alt on some Mac keyboards.
