Default uninstalling pro tools 8

the uninstaller from 8 doesnt work on mavericks and some of the folders like (avid) are not found in 8 like they are in 10. so what should i do to uninstall 8 but still be able to open old projects and work in 11

i know there are answers for pro tools 10 but not 8 and the folders have different names. i just don't want to delete something important in 11

Since Protools 8 was never certified for Mavericks (and neither was Protools 10), the best thing for you to do is a clean install of Protools 11. Start by backing up all your sessions files and data. Then completely wipe anything to do with Protools (all versions). Reboot your computer. (Now would be a good time to consider upgrading to Yosemite if you will like. If so, do a format and clean install of Yosemite). Install Protools 11 as a new and fresh install.

Yes, but instead of upgrading the operating system, consider making a clean install to an empty system drive. Here's how.

definitely not going to yosemite. i have no idea how to uninstall everything pro tools i feel if i do that, when i goto to open up an older session I'm going to missing info in the session.

If something on the system drive app/system folders makes something in your session go missing, you have file management hell of your own making.

follow the 10 manual uninstalling steps
or reformat your system drive and start fresh

the problem is the folders are different names (example in pro tools 8 there is no avid folder in applications)
