MIDI Timestretch: Possible wit TCE

Hi there, i have the following problem:

A drummer recorded the drum-track using a electronic drum kit and Cubase. He played to the playback whose speed was at 116. But in Cubase he used the standard tempo 120. So he played a song of 116 on a track with speed 120. Now i imported the midi-file in proTools, song tempo is at 116, and the whole drum track is somewhat slower than it should be

Question: is it possible to compress the whole midi-track so that it fits to 116, of course without changing the relation between the events. I know it is possible with audio-file using TCE, will TCE maybe also work on MIDI-tracks ? OR any other way to do that ?

I think if the MIDI conductor is turned on, just changing the tempo will make the MIDI drums play correctly at the chosen tempo.

Using the TC/E Tool is going to be your best beat because changing the tempo with a Tick Track Timebase will move the event data relatively. Expanding the event data to 116 cuts the process of changing all tracks to a Sample Timebase.

So that means that TCE works also on MIDI-Tracks ? I will try that then.

Regarding changing the tempo with Midi-Conductor on: I don't exactly know what you mean by the Midi-Conductor. I have in my session the conductor symbol enabled in the transport window because i use a tempo map at the beginning. But the whole session is already at tempo 116 and then i will import the midi file but the whole track is still off (too slow). Maybe i could speed up the whole song to 120, then import the midi track and then slow down the whole song again back to 116. Or slow down the song to 112 (difference between 120 and 116 is 4, so 116-4=112), import the track and speed up to 116 ? Maybe i'll try TCE first ;-)
