convert 44,1->48KHZ
Hi everybody,
Before PT 5.1, we had for audio two menus to import sounds in a session. Directly import or convert and import. Now, and it's more confortable, only one menu to do everything... But the problem is that it's now impossible to convert a 44,1KHz sound to a 48KHz to import it in a 48KHz . The sound will just play at the wrong speed. Am I missing something ? I have to do that in another program then return to PT...it's to bad !! In the same way, why can't we do a copy a the sound when we import it. I'm working for movies, and don't like at all, when there are two movies in my hard drives to have the same sound used by two sessions and localized in only one audio file folder. Some more options in the import menu would be very appreciate...as the new strip silence feature (minimum threshold now at -48dB !!!!!!! only) it's too bad to win something and loose another thing.. Re: convert 44,1->48KHZ
You have to mark the file you want to import and not dubbleclick on it because then you will only "Add" the file. After you have marked the file you want press button "Convert" and it will convert your file to your present session setting when you press "Done".

Re: convert 44,1->48KHZ
The menu changed: Theres no Convert and Import heading, its now in the Import Audio window.
Pt5.1 only had an option that would say Add or Copy. If you clicked Copy it would copy the source file into your target location and automaticaly sample rate and bitdepth convert. In Pt5.1.1 the function has been renamed to Convert. Steps to convert and import audio. 1. Click on Import Audio from the audio region menu. 2. Select files you wish to convert and import. 3. After you have the files selected click add to add those files to the import window. 4. If you wish to sample rate and bit convert and you are using ptools 5.1 click Copy. (Convert) in 5.1.1 5. Ptools now asks for a destination directory of where the converted files should be placed. 6. Choose appropriate folder. 7. Hit ok. 8. Wait for files to be converted and imported. |
