Bounce to Quicktime- could not finish bounce ?
I am trying to bounce to a quicktime movie and every other time or so I get a message hat says it cant finish because a volume was missing (-35). Anyone know what that means?

Re: Bounce to Quicktime- could not finish bounce ?
Just got it again and thought I would quote it exactly:
"Could not complete the Bounce To Disk command because Volume not found (-35). I did bounce the whole thinge earlier without a problem. My first try gave me this message, the second time worked, and now I have tried it 2 times in a row and gotten the message. This sucks because it is a 22 minute episode. I did a test on about a minute and it worked. Any suggestions? |

Quote:
It looks like The message is indicating the space allocated on the drive is not available or there's not enough space left? And as you are able to bounce a smaller region!!!!.... Have you plenty of free drive space? Ay least 20-30% free on your audio drive! 20-30gig to write to. Is the drive in good order? Delete the database files on all the hard drive partitions. Try the DAE buffer at a bigger setting! default is 2 try 4 or 6. Chris

Re: Bounce to Quicktime- could not finish bounce ?
Thanks for your reply-
I am fairly certain that my dae buffer is already set to 4- I usually keep it there. I will double check. The drive is only about 2 months old and is a very good 120gig drive with about 100gigs of free space. It has been working fine. I have never done this kind of bounce before and do have a question. My video that I am working with is on a separate drive than the recording drive. This isn't a problem, is it? I always keep the video I work with on a separate drive than the one I write audio to. |

Try a shorter name for your bounced movie file.
(Very short like "Bnc" - for starters) You should be good to go.

Re: Bounce to Quicktime- could not finish bounce ?
Carl-
Thank you very much! That seems to have done it. I will have to do a few more BTDs, but it worked right away. I actually had a very long name on this one, unusually long for what I normally name things. Thanks again, I was about to get into some time-consuming work on a drive, and now my evening is free. |
