Pro tools LE with Macbok Pro???

Hello there, I just bought an Mbox 2 Pro to use it with my Macbook Pro.
My question was the following, i was wondering how the chain of conection should be to use it with my LACIE 500GB D2 QUADRA V2 7200 HDD/B-ZML external hard drive. The hard drive has 1 Firewire 800 and also 1 Firewire 400 and Usb 2.0.

Also i would like you to recomend me some plugins to use now with my pro tools LE.

I'd recommend daisy chaining your system via firewire. for some reason mbox 2 pros are not recommended with FW800 drives.

• Pro Tools LE Systems (with Pro Tools LE 6.9.2 or higher) with the following exception:
  • FireWire 800 drives are not supported for record and playback with Mbox 2 Pro systems

so stick with Fw400 if you can. fw800 'should' be backwards compatible so you should be able to use a fw800 to fw400 cable. I'd try mbox 2 pro plugged into the harddrive via the Fw400 slot, then use a fw800>fw400 from the hard drive into the computer.

If you don't mind dropping $40-$80 you could get an expansion 34 card, with some extra fw400 plugs on it. it would make things simpler and tidier.

As for plugs, use the PT digirack stuff and see what you can get out of it, they are better then people give them credit for. if you really want something else, check out massey plug ins.
