Had a MX8000 once - bad, bad thing! I also tried some of Behringers smaller mixers when auditioning for a cheap live mixer. It sounded like crap compared to some of the other (cheap) mixers we tested.

I've never used the Mackie 8-bus. I have a Mackie 14-channel thing (1402..?) which is quite handy and sounds better than the Behringer stuff. I'd just use it for monitoring, not tracking or mixing.

Have you checked out some of the Allen & Heath mixers in the same price range, like a used MixWizard? I think that would be a better choice. Please, please stay away from the Behringer mixers.

Xehringer.. They xerox lots of audio gear from everywhere.

The only Behringer gear I kept is an aural exciter with surround.
The DSP 8000 now is a tv for curious guys around the control room.

Save some money and buy an used 02R at USA e-bay.
Nice weekend
