Default Steven Slate Trigger Plug-in: No option for Leakage Suppression

Hello,

I recently purchased Steven Slate Trigger Platinum. I love it! However, as I went through the manual, it mentioned the options for HFR, mix, and Leakage Suppression. I don't see the option for leakage suppression, and I'm wondering as to why. Did it not come with my purchase? Maybe I'm overlooking something simple.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

-Justin

It's not real obvious, it's in the top window that displays the waveforms and stuff. There's 3 little readouts that don't look like controls, but just numbers. One is the HPF (high pass filter, for the original sound, that may help with triggering accuracy), under it is Mix (mix control of sample and original sounds), and under that is SUPP (which is the leakage suppression).

In each, case, you click and drag with your mouse up or down on the number next to it, to alter the values. I'm not real familiar with it yet, but for the suppression, I assume you bring the value down as much as possible before it starts triggering from the bleed drums. Yet you want it low enough that it will capture the soft and ghost notes, etc. You still use it in conjunction with the other controls.

If you go on the Slate Digital website, in the left column, click on "video", and it will bring up a selection of videos. There's a video that's a review of Trigger by audiomidi.com, and about 6 minutes in, he talks about the suppression. I found it very helpful. After watching that, you still may want to further look at the manual, but it should help.

The manual is kind of strange.

One other thing in playing with this, the drum samples are said to be "mix ready" with no additional processing. I've found that it still helps a lot to use some additional processing in certain cases, so don't be afraid to try that.

The video was very insightful, and it works great! Does the same principal apply to my toms?

I would assume so. I guess you would need to side chain each of those to the plugin as well.
