Default Plugin Alliance update woes

What the bleep is going on with plugin developers these days? First Softube as I mentioned the other day and now Plugin Alliance. Oh the plugins function (for the most part). What doesn't specifically work correctly is the metering. Some of their plugins that use non-analog metering like their channel strips and their own metering plugin have the metering upside down. Instead of the meter bars growing from the bottom up they're dropping from the top down YET the meter legends are right side up.

Doesn't anyone bother to check these things?

BTW have not heard anything back from Softube yet.

And this is with the maintenance update from yesterday?

I was about to update, but I think I'll hold off now. Thanks for the info.

While I don't do Facebook anymore I do take part in a HUGE thread over on Gearspace (used to be Gearslutz) titled: 'who uses plugin aliance'. I've been made aware in that thread that Dirk or whomever moderates that FB group tends to remove anything that isn't flattering to Plugin Alliance. I've got a ton of their plugins (all the Engl's and Diezel's and other plugin emulations) and this is the weirdest thing I've seen from them.

I'm sure there are other problems with their plugins and this update. If you would - can you share what you're seeing (before it disappears)?

I'm simply not updating anything PT related until PT comes M1 native. Not even ilok 5.5 which gave me ilok cloud problems and I had to roll back. My setup is solid, and it stays that way until PT is M1 native.

I tried to find it again and cant... I don't do facebook either, I just use it to post good plugin deals and new youtube videos for those who like to use it.

But it was a screen shot of bx_meter before and after the update.

And it was exactly what you described. Meters coming from the top.

It is true that the PA group removes messages and it's only for POSITIVE posts now. I LOVE LOVE LOVE PA plugins. The MEGA bundle is the best deal around. I don't understand why plugin companies do these things or when they start getting political.

You make plugins, no one cares who you are voting for.

To this day I refuse to review or promote SoundToys plugins because of their abuse of their email list. You do not get people to sign up for plugin news and then start filling their mailboxes with political propaganda.

We all have our views, that's fine. But you don't explicitly inject your political views on a platform that is supposed to be about plugins or audio products - its inconsiderate of your audience.

I've run a YouTube channel about plugins and audio equipment for over ten years, I would NEVER think to tell people who they have to vote for when reviewing a plugin. People who disagree with me also use plugins. People who subscribe to the channel have subscribed for pro audio content. It's an abuse of your subscribers to start berating them over something that has nothing to do with the reason they subscribed. No one cares about your virtue signaling.

If you want to speak your views, fine, create another channel or platform so your followers know what they are subscribing to.

The same for not being able to take criticism. Over 10 years I may have removed 5 comments from YouTube because they where WAAAAAY over the line to where YouTube will strike your channel because of a comment from someone else.

The world has lost its mind.

I got an email from Plugin Alliance tech support earlier today saying they've confirmed the bug and have fixed it. It's in testing and validation and should be out in a few days (so they say).

Speaking of keeping political views private I too would like to see developers keep things to themselves. Just make good plugins that work and keep the political junque out of my email box.
