Default Randomizing Playlist Clip Colors

Hey all,

Here's an issue I've never come across before. I started doing vocal takes and noticed that every take in playlist view is the same color. I like to have each take be a different color to make comping easier.

It seems like Pro Tools usually does this automatically. I haven't changed any settings.

Wondering if anyone knows how to get these clip colors to randomize.

(NOTE: They are randomized from track to track, just not in the different takes in playlist view.)

Thanks

Color coding is set in the first preference pane, "display." There are different settings for clip color and track color. First place I'd check. This particular pref (at least clip color) seem to be saved with the session.

Well, the problem seems to have righted itself. Started doing takes on a new vocal track and each one is showing up a different color. I guess it was a fluke. Thank you for your help!

With the track set to playlist view track colors will reset to blue when moving the playlists. When loop recording each playlist will be a different color and generally retain it until one of the differently colored tracks is moved to the highest priority (play track). The default color behavior for playlists is annoying.
