Free Metric Halo Channel Strip SP Plug In For Mix 24

I am in the process of upgrading to HD. I haven't yet upgraded to WINDOWS XP because I am afraid I may loose one of those mysterious authorization if I do so. I am trying to figure out what to do about Metric Halo's Channel Strip SP. The literature that came with the product speaks about PDFs that I cannot locate. Has anyone figured out what to do to install this plug in on the HD system? If you have actually resurrected this plug in, please let me know in detail how you did this. Thanks.
