Come on Avid and show us you are not mean spirited. Don't have to support the PC and Control24 just put the 64bit files in PT11. Please.

Let me try to write a post that won't be deleted. Here goes:

Avid is awesome and an example of true dedication and communication with their customers' needs and expectations. They value customer loyalty, and investments. Because of the last 10 years of perfect harmonious glitch-free software and hardware releases, I would recommend Avid and Protools to anyone, especially my dearest friends and colleagues. Any difficulties or frustration that anyone feels is ridiculous and completely their own fault. Ps. I love the use of dongles! They ROCK! Thanks so much!! Have a blessed day! WOO HOO! :)

They'd have to be mighty ambitious. Avid would probably block them, either legally or financially, from doing it.

I'm not sure why Avid would care about this? It's a dead product that isn't sold or supported anymore. What is there to sue about?

I was on the fence deciding to buy a control 24. Using pt 9 but going to 11. I almost pulled the trigger but checked in here first, damn it! Started with pt 5.1 and moved up with them through the years but no support or driver for control 24 in pt11? Guess that's why I see control 24s a bargain prices now. I have no intentions on buying their new style controllers whatsoever or a c|24. Digidesign at least listen to their customers.

Exactly. The only real criminal behavior here is by Avid - in not creating a driver for these controllers.

They are essentially shooting themselves in the foot too, because the lost revenue from potential customers who have heard about this fiasco is causing them to not want to invest in any new Avid control surface. Customers can see that this disabling of ProControl & Control|24 is a deliberate act intended to make them have to buy a new control surface - but guess what …. the exact opposite is happening. Pro Tools users are not stupid, and they know when they're being manipulated.

This conversion to 64-bit code would probably take a few hours of an Avid programmer's time to feed it thru the code conversion app that they use.

Let's get this over with. Build the 64-bit drivers. Rebuild the confidence of Avid customers.
