Default Fast Track Ultra 8r drivers won't update

I've searched everywhere trying to find a proper place to post this, but I've had no luck. I have a fast track ultra 8r, and i am trying to update the drivers. I downloaded the newest driver, installed it, plugged in the fast track, let that install, and then opened the fast track control panel. The installation said it completed successfully (twie actually) but the old driver is still shown in the control panel. I have had problems with audio input and output (sound is stuttering and choppy) and was hoping a driver update may clear up the issue, but i can't even do that. I am running windows 7.

I think i have found the proper forum and moved this there.
