I am running ProTools 9.0.6 with a Profire 610. I also run a lot of other software, mostly SOANR X3, and I don't really use the ProTools that much as what I do is better served by SONAR. I also run, (only occasionally) Sound Forge, Vegas, East West Play engines, Quicktime, Z3Ta, Melodyne, Dimension Pro, Rapture, Guitar Rig, Reason, and Izotrope. The vast majority of the time I run these other processes through SONAR when I need them.
The problem I am having is that my Profire 610 is locked into hosted mode by one of these programs or the OS (?) I don't know, but I am thinking the Protools may be doing this as it won't let me switch off the interface. I want to get the ProFire 610 in standalone mode as I want to switch it from an internal to an external clock, but the Profire 610 control panel won't let me do this while it is in hosted mode. I've tried the M-Audio people on this, but they were not much help at all. Is there a way to make Protools stop using the Profire as its interface without me completely uninstalling the program? Is there someone with experience with this interface and ProTools who might know how to do this? Or can someone think of any reason why my interface is locked in Hosted Mode if the ProTools is not the cause? One of the other programs possible? I have put the Profire 610 on another computer without all this software, and the standalone mode came up fine there. I would like to avoid having to completely uninstall all this software and then reinstall it as that would be one royal pain and might not be possible to do without major damage. My search of the database here and the ProToolsusers.org forum turned up nothing in reference to this problem. I appreciate any help or knowledge that may be out there in reference to this. Thanks.
