Hi and Welcome to the DUC Forum

Have you tried to set the I/O back to "Default" in the I/O settings as we have had a similar experience where the in and outs where greyed out but setting the i/o's back to DEFAULT solved that. This might not solve your issue but worth a try.

Goto -> Setup -> I/O -> and click "deafult" on all the tabs i.e output/input/bus etc and restart Pro Tools.

Hope that it does the trick and if not I hope someone else here can chime in on this issue.

In order to help you if that doesn't fix it you need to post more info and read the Help us help you on the banner of the forum.

Good luck and report back what happens.
Best
Chris

If his suggestion does not help, make sure pro tools is set to correct playback device.

Setup>playback and set to correct playback device.

Then go to IO setup and set default, that should do it.

Hi,

Make sure you have definitely installed the latest driver for your interface!

Make sure the interface is on and connected before turning the computer on!

Boot pro tools holding the N key which will take you to the playback engine page, where you can re select the audio engine/interface in the box list of available interfaces. Select yours.

Now go to the hardware setup and I/o setup and set to default. Now your ins and out should be back.

The experts here will be able to help you better by giving them a Sandra report to, if it's neccessary.

Actually, we need to know the make and model of the interface (if any) along with the name and version of the operating system as much as we need the Sandra report...

And, if you happen to be using Windows 7 and a USB interface and you had your USB interface plugged into your computer before installing the Pro Tools driver, you need to follow the instructions in my Post #15 on this thread before doing anything else: http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?p...=1#post1792191

Just rockin'...what more is there?
