Did an upgrade to 10.3.7 then 6.7 and 6.7cs7 (repaired permissions, trashed prefs) now if I playback even one track with nothing on it, I get this prompt:
The operating system held off interupts for too long. If this occurs frequently, try increasing the H/W buffer size in the playback engine panel. (-6093) My settings are: 512 samples (tried higher but same thing happened) CPU usage limit 65% DAE platback buffer level 2 (default) Tried trashing prefs already. Any thoughts?

Raise your CPU to the maximum setting ( 85% or 99% with duals)

Raising the CPU worked okay for one track, but thats it. Why would this matter now, it hasn't in the past. Couple of four-six track stuff choked. Digi demo choked right off the bat. Any other possible ideas? I'm about ready to change everything back and see about getting a refund on the upgrade.

Go back into Energy Saver in OSX and reset Processor Performance to Highest. It might have been reset after the u/g.

...System preferneces.... Energy Saver...
I assume your sessions are on the FW drive.... and that you have done a disk / repair on this drive. You might want to just copy a session to your powerbook, and try running it locally, to see if you get at least more oomph.. then you can eliminte whether it is the drive or not. Good luck.

Guys is that a option on a powerbook? 'Cause I'm not seeing it on my G4 tower. I'm using-
Dual/FireWire800/G4-1.25/OS 10.3.7/PTLE 6.7cs7/002rack/extra internal hard drive- Western Digital. Waveshell 4.0.1 No FW... internal. All was fine before the upgrades (see original post). So I'm guessing it has somthing to do with PT 6.7.7

System Preferences > Energy Saver > Options tab > "Processor Performance" - click the drop down box to choose "Highest". I am looking at it right now in a G5 tower, it's been on all of my Macs - G4 or G5.

G4’s have never had the Processor Performance option. Only G5 & laptops.
The OS determines what hardware it’s running on and makes the option available if the hardware supports it. Sorry I can’t help with your issue Kling3. Well I went back and got another (different) 6.7 upgrade. Now it chokes after only 2 seconds of play. So that helped tons.
I've been down almost four days now. As much as I love DIGI, this sucks. Going back to 6.4 I'll let you know what happens.
