Default MIDI effects help

OK, I have searched under all of the keywords I could think of and havent found an answer to my problem. I am new to MIDI so PLEASE excuse me if this is a really silly question... I have set up Reason with no trouble through ReWire. I can record all of my MIDI notes and they sound GREAT... BUT, if I am 'tweaking' the sound of a certain patch using say resonance, sustain, delay etc. I CAN NOT get this data to record/import into my Pro Tools session. Im sure there is an easy fix but maybe Im just overlooking something that is actually very obvious.

my gear:
Dual Proc. G4
DIGI002 Rack
Edirol PCR-30

MIDI is working fine otherwise!

Thanks for ANY info!!! and Im really sorry if this is a repeat question- I just can not seem to find he answer after searching.

Default Re: MIDI effects help

If you want the 'tweak' to be in realtime (ie: a slow filter sweep over 2 measures), you need to record that automation in Reason. Just as you would record a musical passage from, say, a synth, record over the area you want to automate, do your tweak, and that's pretty much it. You'll see a green highlight around the parameter you just altered. You can also just right-click (or ctrl+click) on any parameter and select "edit automation", in which case you'll be able to draw the automation in the parameter's window (created automatically and placed below the instrument or effect related to it).

This way of doing it is sometimes more efficient, as it allows you to be more precise with your edit. Once you take care of all this in Reason, you can just route the audio into ProTools and print it to a track.
