Default Pro Tools Not Saving During Session

Strange issue here...when I hit CMD + S, the red dot at the top corner of the Pro Tools window doesn't become solid. It still shows the session as "unsaved." I've tried going to File > Save. Same thing.

When I close the session, it asks me do I want to save, I hit OK. It seems to save it. But, during the session itself, it remains in a state of not being able to save as I go along. I've tried 5 different sessions.

I read of this issue a few years ago, but I cannot find a thing on it when I searched.

Any thoughts?

UPDATE (solution):

Trashing preferences seems to solve this issue. I haven't had the issue (fingers crossed) since doing this. Hope it stays.
