Default seriously basic question...

Apologies, i'm sure there are plenty of threads on this but i searched and couldn't find them (feel free to post the links).

I have a 15" MacBook Pro - 2.53 Ghz, OS 10.6.3 - I bought Pro Tools 7 and Mbox 2 factory in 2006 or 2007 (when i had my old macbookPro with os 10.4).

I haven't used PT for ages - and have just started trying to catch up where i left off... so what i understand so far is that my old Pro Tools won't work on my new Mac? I need to upgrade to Pt8 and then get another upgrade to make it work on os 10.6.3. Is this correct?

If this is the case and someone could point me in the direction of where i would download the upgrade (and what exactly i would have to download) that would be fantastic.

Much appreciated.

P3

Hello.

You can either order and download it from the Avid store :
http://shop.avid.com/store/product.d...88865113879120

or go to your local music store and buy it.

I'm not 100% certain, but I believe you'll need to upgrade to at least 7.4 and then get some free updates via Pro Tools web site (assuming you've registered your software with them.

I base this on the fact that I use an Intel-based MacBook Pro similar to yours (only, with OS 10.5) and run PTLE7.4 without problems.

On the other hand, since your PT version is so dated, and if you are serious about getting back into PT, then spend the $150.00.
You'll be very happy with the changes they've made since ver7.
