just bought you a Rode NTK and she was also willing to pay for a Mic Pre for it (had to be under $600) what would you get?
Im also thinking of buying an A/D converter (like an Apogee Rosetta) but first I would like know what are the advantages of an A/D. Whats the diffrence between say this: NTK > Mic Pre > Digi 001 and/or NTK > Mic Pre > Apogee Rosetta > Digi 001. Please help me guys shes getting inpacient!! DoneDigi |

All other things being satisfactory, first thing I'd do is marry her.

How about a nice Focusrite Octopre.
I know somebody who has one and it does seem very good quality. It also added 8 extra imputs to the digi which can't hurt. I know it's a lot to ask her for but your worth it. |

The Apogee is about $1300.. for that money I'd recommend rather buying a Vintech 1073 clone and use the 002 A to D.

I agree for $600 why not go for the upgrade program and get yourself an 002R, unless you have a pile of PT5.x plugins, then your upgrade cost would increase to get them PT6 compatible.
You gain 2 more preamps, and have 4 preamps actually worht something, plus decent converters. |
