Interface Recommendation (back again)
Looking for recommendations on a cheap all in one interface. I was previously using an HD1 setup with a 192 i/o. Got rid of it right before the HDX and HD Native came out. At some point in time I'll probably go to an hd native interface with an omni but looking for something in between now. An associate offered to sell me his rack plus he's not using for $300 but I would like to see what ever else is out there. This is not a professional studio, mainly used for composing, song arrangement, scratch vocals, voice overs, commercials / announcements, basic music production (gospel, R&B) before moving to a higher quality place.

Re: Interface Recommendation (back again)
Forgot to mention. Preferably firewire or USB interface as my mac does not have lightning.

Re: Interface Recommendation (back again)
I don't know about Macs, but the Roland Studio Capture works great on our PCs over USB 2. I'm an EE and am really impressed with it's performance. My son is the musician, mixer, etc. and has found it very user friendly and capable for his current recording needs. But, because of PT's apparent ASIO and/or other "stability problems", he uses Reason for recording and bounces the tracks to PT for mixing.

Re: Interface Recommendation (back again)
I've always had luck with the Persons interfaces. Drivers are solid and seem to work well with PT.

Re: Interface Recommendation (back again)
If being on a budget/not wanting to spend tons of money yet looking for professionally
useable quality, Focusrite is the best bang for the buck at the moment. I would highly recommend to check out the Focusrite Saffire range as these are really decent quality, very versatile and are working well with Pro Tools. http://www.sweetwater.com/c683--Fire...N1c3JpdGUiXX19 http://us.focusrite.com/firewire-audio-interfaces Btw they are Firewire connected, for later Macs however they work well with the original Apple Thunderbolt-to-Firewire-Adapter. The Saffire 26 is a very nice piece of gear for the price ($300.-)! http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/SaffPro26 http://us.focusrite.com/firewire-aud...saffire-pro-26 The Saffire Pro 40 will be a good deal if one needs more preamps ($500.-). http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/SaffPro40 http://us.focusrite.com/firewire-aud...saffire-pro-40 Both offer ADAT, SPDIF, Midi I/O etc. And the Saffires are proven to work well with Pro Tools 11/12 as well. |

Re: Interface Recommendation (back again)
They seem to have rather serious unresolved issues on PCs, but that's not the case on Macs?

They also work better than the USB Scarletts and generally all the Focusrites seem to be more stable and better working on Macs than on PCs at the moment. Curious about the new Claretts. |
