Mezzo And AIT?

I have an AIT drive and Mezzo 3.6.6 with the Atto card in an expanded G4 system (Mix++). I cannot get the tape drive to back-up without giving me verification errors - any clues?

I've had the same exact problem. I was just about to call Mezzo tech support; now I will do so knowing that it's not just me. If I find anything out, I'll let you know.

Hiya Paul,
I tried the AIT with Retrospect on my trusty 9600 (Mac External SCSI) and it performed perfectly. My guess is that it is not Mezzo or the drive, but the configuration of the Atto card - any ideas, anybody?

I e-mailed Monica Cesarello at Mezzo but have yet to hear back from her.
I'm glad to hear your backup was successful. What makes you think it's the ATTO card that's screwing things up in your G4 system?

Hi Paul,
Well the fact that the drive works with Retrospect on my 9600 and didn't on the G4 would point to either the SCSI card or the Mac. The Mac is running perfectly otherwise.
I had exactly the same problem with both Retrospect and Mezzo on the G4, where as the drive behaved as expected on the 9600. At the moment I'm trying to install Mezzo on the 9600 just to verify that Mezzo is not the culprit.

Just finished a 1 gig back-up using the 9600, AIT and Mezzo 3.6.6. This rules out Mezzo (I think!). So the software and the drive are compatible ....

Well Ciarán, did you ever straighten out the problem, and what did you have to do? AIT is a serious contender for my next backup upgrade, and compatibility issues such as this are good to know in advance.

Yep - it seemed to be a dodgy ATTO card - as the problem dissapeared when I changed the card and put in the same settings I was using on the other card. The AIT drive works like a dream!
