Default Pitch Shift VS. Elastic Pitch

Question:

If I record a guitar part at half speed, and then need to pitch it back down an octave after it's tracked -- which feature will yield the best sounding results? Anyone have experience with this? Any tips or advice is much appreciated!

Thanks.
