Default Can I use two 001\'s simultaneously?

I tried to search the archives, but found no real answers.

I understand that I can use other stuff via LightPipe to extend my i/o's, but I need to know if I can install and use 2 Digi001's in my G4.

Thanks everyone!

Moot.

Multiple Digi001 and/or AMIII cards cannot be used in the same system.

you can use two if you have two computers. Lock via midi time code generating from your master mtc to port code

Digi001 and AMIII hardware cannot work simultaneously when installed in the same computer.

If you were looking to use a second Digi001 for the 8 extra inputs and not for 24 extra tracs, couldn't you just have two computers turned on with only one running ProTools? Does the Digi001 automatically send it's analog inputs to the lightpipe outputs (without software)? If you had ProTools loaded and open in both computers, couldn't you set the output of computer A to lightpipe, and go into Digi/computer B?

I can't think of a reason why not, but I just want to be sure. I have a Digi001 (love it) and I have a friend who's looking into getting an 001 for his computer setup. We occasionally get together and record bands and want to be compatible in some way shape or form, and have the ability to record 16 inputs at once. I hate the MOTU stuff, so I'd like to see if he can get into an 001.
