Default half speed recording

Basically, I want this portion of music to sound, at normal speed, the way it does when i play it back in half speed. When i tried to record the sound, either from the monitors or with a microphone, i found it was useless because pro tools will just play what you recorded at full speed, rendering what you recorded identical to what you already have. The only option i can think of that would work would be to TCE it, but the TCE plug ins i have don't effect pitch the way that half speed playback does. Perhaps i could TCE it, then pitch shift it? but this is getting kind of rediculous. There has to be something much easier then this. Does anyone have any possible solutions?

thanks.

If I understand correctly, you want your audio to playback an octave low. Serato Pitch-n-time will do it but I don't know how good it will sound.

select the audio file you want to affect.
go to audiosuite and choose pitchshift (free digidesign plug in).
uncheck time correction.
set the pitch to (minus)-12.
done.
